About Us

In 2007, Jason White continued the family legacy started by his father, Howard White. Started in 1977, North Florida Builders became quite large prior to the recession of the late 2000s. After 20 years of hands-on experience in every phase of homebuilding, Jason redefined the business to an intimate true custom homebuilder to serve the growing demand for quality homes in today’s market.  We want to build for you the home you want.  Our design meetings will explore the features and details that your home will offer to serve your needs and wants for many years to come.  From the initial introductory meeting to receiving your house keys, you will have access to our entire staff to keep you informed on all the phases involved with building your custom home.  We thrive on making the experience a pleasant one, about which you will be thrilled to share with others.

Jason White is Owner and President of North Florida Builders.  As the son of the founder, he learned every aspect of the business, starting with sweeping houses under construction as a teenager.  After college, he worked as a Project Manager and Quality Control Manager under his Father.  Starting his own custom home company in 2007 under the name of JW Custom Homes, he was able to assume the original name, North Florida Builders, in 2010.  Jason is a native of Jacksonville, and has a wife and 2 children.

Born and raised in Syracuse, NY and now a 26 year resident of Florida, Dan brings 30 years of custom home buliding experience to North Florida Builders.  At a very young age he worked with his father Jerry who was a custom cabinet maker and a New York State Building Inspector.  Being on the job site at the age of 9 helped Dan build and hone the skills he possesses to this day.

Dan started his professional career with Ryan Homes in Syracuse and moved his way up to Superintendent.  In 1987 he was transferred to Northeast Florida to bring his expertise to the developing communities in this area.  Dan eventually found his way to the prestigious company that is North Florida Builders.  Having done commercial building, Navy contracts, and custom home additions his passion is building custom homes.

Dan and his wife, Brianne, have 3 young girls and a very big German Shepherd named Bear.  Dan loves coaching his girls in lacrosse while also playing the sport himself. 

Dan makes the process of building your home personable, fun, and rewarding.   At then end of the process you will have a place to call home that is truly your own.

Teresa Wright

Teresa Wright

Marketing / Sales / Contract Administrator

Teresa Wright has been with the company since August 2008 and presently oversees marketing, sales, and contract administration.  Originally from Baltimore, Teresa has called Jacksonville home since 1997.  After a career in finance, administration and marketing, Teresa has focused her passion to the custom home industry after receiving her real estate license in 2004. Teresa and her husband, Steve are empty-nesters with 1 son.

What Our Customers Have Said

Having recently retired and moved to St. Johns, we enlisted North Florida Builders to build our retirement home. Prior to that, we had lived in preexisting homes, with the idea that building a home would be a dreadful experience. Jason White and his assistant, Teresa Wright, pleasantly surprised us by turning the endeavor into an exciting “adventure”, the outcome of which we have been both happy and proud. They were a great team with whom to work. We found Jason to be both a competent builder and a good communicator who personalizes his work, as well as his relationship with his customers. Teresa was most professional and patient in her approach to guiding us through the layers of decision-making required to make our home exactly what we had envisioned. Our relationship did not end there. Even after the closing, Jason and Teresa were there for us in making additional finishing touches.
